My name is Michael Hazen and I am excited to return to Costa Rica with all of you.  In 2010, I explored Costa Rica’s diverse ecosystems as a biology and conservation science student with the University of California Santa Barbara. My passion for sustainable action and environmental conservation has driven me to seek solutions within the human element of anthropogenic environmental degradation. I discovered, for myself, that sustainable change begins with personal development as we are all participating in creating a brighter future. My first transformational festival experience in 2009 was the spark in my furnace to passionately develop services that bring me joy to share with the world around me. Since then, I have been designing and facilitating experiential education programs that focus on our relationships with ourselves, with others and with our environment. In teaching yoga to adults, permaculture to children, and throwing Hong Kong’s only transformational festival on the International day of Peace, the three tenants of my work are: “Know thyself, enjoy community, and revere nature.” Not only are we creating a powerful opportunity for ourselves, we are creating powerful opportunities for others. I feel a huge amount of joy and excitement for us to be co-creating schools for hundreds of children to be educated and empowered. I look forward to sharing my passion for social change with you, on the mat in silence, in the air with acroyoga, in the water catching waves, discovering flow with poi and in dialogue as we invoke what makes us come alive and become the change we wish to see in the world.

Living my purpose is like my addiction to chocolate; I could never get enough, so I got addicted to living. My name is Andria, I am an optimistic, bright eyed traveler in the search for soul quenching moments. I remember being asked as a child what I wanted to do when I grew up. I answered proudly and from the core of my being, TRAVEL EVERYWHERE. I exchanged my optimistic dreams for the game of finance and Real Estate, a game that I was great at 80 hours a week. At the ripe age of 24, I bought my first property, had the car, the career and the man. I also had a hole of utter emptiness that permeated my entire being, despite having done everything right by society’s standards. The transformative catalyst for change began with the betrayal of my partner of 5 years. In the face of life collapse, I attempted to hide in the Bahamas for a week to seek solace and instead found a vision. A vision of a different life that involved yachting and a dream I had forgotten. Upon returning from the trip, I was filled with a renewed fire for life and pure gratitude. I had released the idea of my average life. I finally gave my playful heart and soul the voice they deserved and was on a plane with a massive smile across my face thinking; “I am so proud of you.” With a newly awakened free spirit, I began working and travelling on yachts to some of the world’s most remote beaches and exotic countries. The greatest lesson I learned from some of the wealthiest people in the world is that money can’t buy everything. In the end, the most important element that everyone is searching for is happiness, through authentic love and connection. In my exploration of over 35 different countries as well as through yoga and the practice of non-judgment, raw truth and vulnerability, I am continuously discovering what it means to truly be me. One of my purposes in life is to help others find what it truly means to be them. Some of my greatest transformations have been the result of volunteering with a social enterprise in Vancouver, becoming a certified yoga instructor in Guatemala and experiencing nearly a dozen conscious festivals within the last year. My highest accomplishment in life thus far is fundraising and building a school in Kenya. Meeting the children and community that it will affect has radically touched and forever changed me in profound ways. The last two years have been an invaluable investment for my soul. I chose not to return to the work-world and instead created the freedom to travel and follow my heart’s intuition. I am continuously deepening my understanding of what it is to be truly awake and alive. This brings me to NOW and the Evoke Passion Project. It encompasses everything I am and believe in – a balance of yoga, travel, a conscious festival and giving back. With the heart of the company aiming to build 1,000 schools to educate 1 million children. Each Evoke Passion participant will educate 100 children at no additional cost to them. We are the generation of connection and together we are shifting our mindset from ME into WE.

Hello Everyone! I’m Lynx Christensen, your everyday wellness nut. Growing up, my friends always looked to me for healthy eating and exercise tips. Most of the time I had no idea what I was doing or even talking about, however, these inquiries ignited an inescapable passion for health, nutrition and wellness.  I started by learning to cook in a place with a history of dedication to simple, healthy ingredients - Florence, Italy. Again, I noticed the trend in which people were looking to me for answers. I happily responded by hosting a “Cook & Share” night every week at my flat in the center of town. I expanded on my breadth of knowledge in health (as well as self) by studying Thai Massage, becoming a Yoga teacher and earning my Masters in Integrative Health and Nutrition.  During this time, I also explored the power of authentic connection, dance, vulnerability and community building in the context of transformational festivals, ecstatic dance and international travel. As a chef and nutrition expert I co-facilitated retreats in Peru that integrated traditional medicines, yoga and dance therapy. When faced with a serious health challenge, I developed a natural healing program, which included dramatic lifestyle changes and relocation to Bali, Indonesia. While there I co-created a raw-food community as the chef and sadhana facilitator as well as restored my health to full potency. Personal healing and growth has been further elevated by my immersion in transformational festival culture since Burning Man 2009. It has by no means been a linear journey to this point, but I have learned much from my successes, challenges and journeys, and am honored to share my ever-growing love for health with you. I bring my diverse understanding of wellness and experience in conscious living to my practice as an Integrative Wellness Practitioner. I am excited to develop a personalized road map to optimal health and personal expression that will suit your unique body, lifestyle and goals.

Jeremy lives passionately for helping people lead healthy, happy, and authentic lives.  As a child, he would run soccer and cross-country matches with his inhaler tucked in his shorts, ready to stop at nothing to overcome his limitations.  As a Boy Scout and adventurer Jeremy developed a deep respect for the outdoors, especially the tranquility of the mountains.  His love for people led him to acquire a degree in Psychology and he believes greatly in social work; He volunteered for disaster relief in Haiti after the 2010 earthquake, worked as a victim's advocate and crisis interventionist with the Pima Country Sheriff's office, and currently supports Headstand, a local San Francisco non-profit which empowers at-risk youth to combat toxic stress through mindfulness and yoga. Jeremy was a NASM certified Personal trainer and Group Exercise instructor in Los Angeles for 7 years, until he sought to expand his practice holistically by traveling the world and studying wellness.   On his dream-backpacking trip entailing 14 countries in 1 year, Jeremy lived and studied yoga in the Indian Himalayas for months, becoming deeply transformed and inspired by the ancient wisdom he learned there. He is dedicated to helping people remember that their natural state is bliss! Jeremy is also a Lululemon Ambassador who loves any opportunity to create community events where people can feel great together. Jeremy teaches yoga and fitness in private, corporate, and studio settings all over San Francisco.   He is currently passionate about his role on the founding team Mindfresh, the corporate mindfulness provider, which makes yoga and meditation accessible during the workday to busy professionals high on stress and short on time.   Jeremy is thrilled to be a significant part of the Evoke Passion Project, helping elevate communities through education and guiding individuals in finding a deeper yoga practice.

FAQ’S

Q. Do I have to attend all the yoga classes, discussions and workshops?
A. No, this trip is about staying in your higher self and honoring yourself within.

Q. I already have a festival ticket. Can I join the Evoke Passion Project?
A. Yes. During the festival we are here to facilitate a group camping area if you wish to camp with us. We are perfect for single travelers who don’t want to be alone or for people who are new to festival culture and would like a little guidance.

Q. If I buy my ticket separately, am I responsible for renting my tent and or bring my own?
A. Yes, camping gear is not included into the price if you book without a ticket.
We will save you space to be able to camp with us if you would like. If a ticket is purchased with the Evoke Passion Project the tent rental is included in the price.

Q. What if I don’t have time or want to raise money through the fundraising platform?
A. You can pay the full amount for the trip. If you pay the full amount, Evoke Passion Project will donate $500 on your behalf.

Q. Why would you donate $500 if I don’t raise the money myself?
A. Some people don’t have the time and we would like everyone involved to be part of the collective group in funding a school.

Q. What are we raising $1,000 for?
A. We believe in education. With each Evoke Passion Project trip, our goal is to fund 1-2 schoolhouses that will educate 100 children for every $1,000 raised. Our first February 2016 Costa Rica trip is aiming to build 1 schoolhouse in Nicaragua and 1 in India.

Q. Will the Evoke Passion Project assist in arranging outside activities?
A. Yes, we are here to assist you in any way possible.

Q. How much does it cost to reserve a spot for an Evoke Passion Project?
A. A 50% Deposit is required.

Q. When does the remainder of the trip need to be paid? What if I haven’t raised my goal of $1,000 before the trip?
A. The remainder should be settled up before the trip starts. The remainder is the Cost of the trip – deposit – fundraised amount = amount owed. If you have not fully fundraised the $1,000 but would like the opportunity to, we will allow the flexibility of your fundraising campaign to be extended 30 days from the ending of the trip. If at 30 days past the ending of the trip the money has not been fundraised, you will be expected to pay what is owed immediately. The extension only applies to participant’s who have raised over $500 before the trip starts. If you have fundraised under $500 before the trip starts you are required to pay the trip in full and will not be granted an extension.

Q. If I am owed any money from Evoke Passion Project from the deposit because I raised the full $1000, when will I be paid back?
A. You will be paid back within a 10 days of the trip ending.

Q. What if I am interested in private accommodations?
A. Each trip has different accommodations and the price of the trip currently reflects shared accommodations. If you would like your own room please contact Evoke Passion Project and we will do our best to accommodate you at a premium price.

Q. If I do not want to go the festival, can I come be a part of the program and meet up after the festival for the duration of the trip?
A. Yes, absolutely.
